Interesting collision between a principled catholic (Feser) and a catholic populist (Walsh) on natural law and just war theory regarding Venezuela.

Flippantly to dismiss international law as such is contrary to a great Scholastic tradition represented by thinkers of the stature of Las Casas, Vitoria, and Suarez. It is neither traditional nor Catholic but merely the ignorant, half-assed jingoism of overgrown adolescent boys.

The conventional understanding of Marxism as doggedly anti-religious is wrong.

In fact, as the philosopher Alasdair MacIntyre argued, Christianity and Marxism have at times inspired in humanity a radical sense of hope to build a more just world.
